Day 4 ( Another travel day) Perrysburg, OH to Rock Island, IL 400 miles    Left at 8 this am and decided to use secondary roads and stay off the interstate until we get close to Chicago.  Rte 20 turned out to be very enjoyable and the weather was great.  Miles of farmland and small towns. Caravanned with a number of antique Harley motorcycle riders.  There were about a couple of dozen of bikes from the 30's to  the 50's.  Must have been a rally somewhere in OH.  Some really cool looking machines. (sory no pictures) Back on the interstate just after we entered IL and the weather turned nasty again.   A couple of heavy showers and the wind returned for about an hour or two.  This short wheelbase RV is a definite handful in the wind! There is no time for daydreaming.
Just after noon in eastern Illinois we passed a sign denoting the North /South Continental divide!  WOW who knew there was such a thing!!
After lunch the weather improved and the farms got bigger.  Lots of corn & soybeans, and the size of the silos and grain elevators increased. Our campground was minutes from the great Mississippi River and the wildlife was abundant.  Our sites were on the bank of a small lake, I got to take a few casts with my ultralight fishing rod which I brought.  (no bites), but i was visited by a brightly colored 3-4' water snake and there were many Great Blue Heron, Canada Geese and other birds. We also had our first campfire which finally made it real camping!

Just motoring along in America's heartland!

                                               A peaceful campsite in Illinois.
