Day 29 ( A travel day) Blythe, CA - Williams, AZ  277.6  miles, New Total = 5,954.5 miles
Left the campground on the banks of the Colorado River and entered AZ. We soon discovered we were going the wrong direction and there were 2 different route 95's in the area.  One in CA and one in AZ.  So we just kept on going in AZ and headed North.  The land was flat and the road was straight, but mountains were always in view in almost all directions.

We were paralleling the Colorado and our route took us right through Lake Havasu City, the home of "The London Bridge".  It was moved from the River Thames in London and moved to AZ where it was reconstructed. This little city was an oasis in the middle of the desert.  The Colorado turns the desert green and citizens crowded its banks in condos, mobile homes, etc.

Further north we began to see more classical desert plants---Ocotillo cactus and our first

Our first Saguaro

But change continued and we soon rose up into foothills again and the flora changed to forest and larger trees.
